About the Artist:

Jessica Silva is from a small town on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She studied mixed media, including drawing, painting and metalworking, while in high school, and later received her Bachelor’s Degree in Art Studio with a minor in Art History. She completed her apprenticeship in tattooing under her stepfather and mentor during the last two years of her Bachelor’s degree and began tattooing in January of 2011. She started her career at Hole in the Wall Tattoo in Conway, South Carolina and had a wonderful career filled with incredible clients and a warm, familial environment that she hopes to emulate at her own shop. Just Another Hole in the Wall is an homage to her home and a wink towards the future.

Frequently Asked Questions:

*How do I make an appointment?

You can call the shop during business hours and leave a credit card deposit over the phone to secure a consultation appointment. You are also welcome to come into the shop and leave a deposit to book your consultation.

*Do you take walk-ins, or should I always make an appointment?
An appointment is always preferred. It allows your artist to not only meet with you and gather your ideas for your artwork prior to the appointment, but it also gives the artist time to draw your piece and secure the appropriate time assumed the tattoo will take. You may stop by the shop at any time during shop hours to see if one of our artists is available, but plan on making an appointment.

*Can I meet with my artist before booking my appointment?
Yes. In fact, it is greatly encouraged. As artists, we all have specific styles, which is why we hope you choose your artist carefully. We prefer to meet and get your thoughts and ideas together in relation to the future tattoo design. We prefer to do all custom work for our clients.

*Do you do cover-ups and touch-ups?
We do both, but it is on a client-to-client basis. We need to be able to see the existing tattoos prior to making the judgment as to whether we think it could be covered or fixed.

*What qualifications do your studio and artists have?
The shop is licensed according to the standards placed by South Carolina State law and in accordance with DHEC regulations. Each artist is certified yearly in Bloodborne Pathogens and Infection Control, as well as First Aid and CPR. Each artist has their own specific artistic qualifications

*If my child is underage, can I give my consent for them to get a tattoo?
No. There are no parental consent laws in the state of South Carolina. We urge you to remember the decisions you thought were a good idea under age 18 and rethink your consent!

*How much does a tattoo cost?
Tattoo costs vary depending on size, placement, complexity, etc. We have a shop minimum of $80.00 and they only go up from there. Cost and pricing will be determined between the artist and the client and a determinant amount will be approximated and approved before any appointments are booked. We do not claim to be the cheapest shop, by any means, but we will always give you our best work.

*What is your deposit policy?
We require a minimum $100.00 non-refundable deposit on all tattoos, and more may be required based on the length of time and intricacy of the piece. There will also be a non-refundable art fee, starting at $75, for all custom drawn tattoos. That amount will also be determined by your artist. Your deposit will be applied at the final sit of your desired tattoo. If you cancel your appointment within 24 hours of your time slot, you forfeit your deposit and upon rescheduling, will be required to leave a new deposit. If you cancel your appointment with 48 hours or more advanced notice, you can transfer your deposit to your new appointment time. Cancelling more than two times for the same tattoo will force an additional deposit to be collected.

*What form of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and of course, cash is always welcome.

*Should I tip my artist?
Tips are considered a reflection of how satisfied you are with your overall appointment and artist and are always welcome and appreciated.

*What can I do to prepare for my appointment?
We encourage you to drink a lot of water in the upcoming weeks before your appointment. Hydrated skin allows for a much smoother tattoo process for you and your artist. We would also suggest being at the top of your game, meaning well rested, well fed, and not feeling under the weather at all.

*Can I get tattooed if I have been drinking or under the influence of drugs?
No. We will not tattoo you if we suspect you are under the influence of any kind of substance or alcohol.

*Can I get tattooed if I am pregnant or nursing?
We prefer not to tattoo anyone who is either pregnant or still nursing. Your body has enough to focus on, and healing a tattoo would cause undue stress.

*Can I bring a friend to my appointment?
Yes you may. We prefer you not bring more than two people due to space restrictions.

*Is there anywhere I am not allowed to get tattooed?
Unfortunately, due to South Carolina state law, we are unable to tattoo anything onto a clients’ neck, face or head.

*What are your shop hours?
We are open Tuesday through Saturday, 11-7, and Sundays by special appointment only. We are closed Mondays.
