We will be hosting our first “Intro to Japanese Calligraphy” workshop at Kiku Tattoo Parlour with the one and only @kisyuu_calligraphy (Instagram)

The workshop will be held on May 20th from 6pm-8pm – $65 • seats are limited.

Workshop Description:

This workshop is perfect for those who are interested in trying something new and learning a 6000 year old traditional art.

During this 2-hour beginner workshop, we will go over the basics of Japanese calligraphy, including:

• How to hold & control the brush
• The structure and meaning of Japanese characters
• Basic brush techniques
• The possibilities with sumi-ink
• Expressing yourself with the brush and ink

Then we’ll create calligraphy using your newly acquired calligraphy skills!

Everybody is welcome – no calligraphy experience or Japanese language skills are necessary. Let’s enjoy calligraphy!
