Oddity presents Frazetta in May opening reception May 2, 2015 at 7pm

Frank Frazetta has brought some of the most iconic fantasy world characters to life, including Conan the Barbarian, Tarzan, and The Death Dealer, which is widely recognized from being featured as cover art for southern rock band Molly Hatchet's self-titled debut album. The 1983 adventure-fantasy film Fire and Ice was co-produced by Frazetta himself, with the overall feel and design imitating his illustrative works. Filmmaker Robert Rodriguez is set for production of a live action remake of Fire and Ice as an homage to the late artist, a friend of his whom he greatly admired.
Oddity Tattoo Studio and Gallery takes great pride in being a part of presenting this exhibition. Owner Travis Franklin regards Frazetta as one of his earliest childhood idols, and describes him as being one of his biggest influences to date. "What inspired me as a young artist about [Frazetta's] work at the time was the power in every painting," explains Franklin. "The inflection in the poses, the flesh, the mood, the action, the beauty...the horror. Frazetta believed in the magic of creating, not formulas or a science. I am very grateful for this opportunity to house his works. As a young teen tattooing and oil painting I could have never dreamed this up".
Special guest appearances will be made by Sara Frazetta, the artist's granddaughter. Each weekend, Oddity will display authentic original pieces by Frank Frazetta for the public to enjoy. Guests will also have the exciting opportunity to take home their very own piece of the legacy, with merchandise available in the form of prints, t-shirts, books and more. Original sketches and signed lithographs will also be available throughout the length of the exhibition.
