CALL FOR ART

For our celebration of Friday the 13th and the Halloween season we are looking for artwork that is creepy, peculiar, mystical and strange.

We are accepting artwork in 2 categories:

UNLUCKY 13(x13)
To celebrate Friday the 13th, each artist is invited to showcase their original art on a 13x13" birch panel. Subject matter can relate to superstitions, the creepy and surreal or the halloween season in general. Panels can be primed and painted, sealed and directly drawn on with various mediums or used to mount exiting artwork to. All panels will be displayed together and will be the main exhibit of our show. Please do not frame, we want to keep the size of these panels all the same.
Panels are free to all who participate and can be picked up at the studio during regular business hours -Tuesday through Saturday noon till 8 pm. If you cannot pick up a panel(s) during those hours please text Jess at 716-228-1072 and other arrangements can be made.

(Studio address: RedHouse Tattoo & Piercing Studio, 4820 Broadway, Depew NY, 14043)

  1. ALL THAT IS CREEPY
Don’t want to work on a 13x13” panel? We are taking all other forms of art that relate to Halloween and season. All that is strange, creepy, goulish and spooky will be considered. Photography, mixed media, fiber arts, all paintings including oil, acrylic, ink, pastels and graphite are welcome. Art must be framed where applicable and ready to be hung. While we do not have a limitation on size, we have found that works of art over 60 inches and/or are heavy are hard to display in our studio.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS SATURDAY OCTOBER 8TH.
Submissions can be dropped off Tuesday - Saturday noon till 8pm. If you cannot drop off your submission during those hours please text Jess at 716-228-1072 and other arrangements can be made.

Opening reception will be Friday October 13th from 6-10pm. We hope that all artists and friends and family will join us in celebrating the evening.

Unlucky 13(x13) panels and all other artwork may remain on display though the rest of the month.

  • For those of you who would like to sell your artwork at the show, in leu of a commission, we ask that the artist donate at least 15% of the proceeds to the Buffalo City Mission. *
