Anne Gates' "Found"

Start: May 25, 2012, 10 p.m.

End: May 26, 2012, 1 a.m.

Event at The Butcher

Friday, may 25th, from 7-10pm, The Butcher art gallery, 19 E Bay St, will be hosting a reception for Anne Gates' "Found."

Anne Gates' work consists of unconventional embroidery, and sculptural objects. She uses a monochromatic color palette, but what she lacks in color, she makes up in careful detail. This attention to detail, as well as her patience, is most apparent in her Motivation series, in which she has embroidered actual egg shells. She has an affinity for fragile materials, and strongly challenges the definition of a fiber artist.
"Found" explores the nuances between home and place, between growth and fear, and above all else explores human motivation. Every piece shares a hint of a moment, of a memory, and every connection an opportunity.
Please come enjoy this exhibition with us. Complimentary refreshments will be served, with beverages provided by River Street Liquor and food by Leoci's Trattoria.

Please don't hesitate to contact us for more information.
